You do not have to wait for your business plan to start warming up potential investors. You do need to have your pitch in your head, hit the hot buttons. What you are doing, why you are qualified, how much you need, and what kinds of returns they might expect? It was in my “in between years”, the seven years I struggled after I was recruited out of the Army and before I started my company which would make me a millionaire in four years. It was the first time I had tried to raise any money. My partner on this deal was the real estate expert and we only needed $200,000 to get this piece of land and he assured me we could flip it for a big profit. (more…)
Before I start I am not trying to make people rich, but financially independent, which I have arbitrarily defined as one million in the bank. However, once you hit one million dollars most people keep going.
I guess not many people want to be poor, but I also feel not many people are willing to do what is necessary to get rich. When I ask people do you want to be rich? Most say, “ Yes, I want to be rich.” So let’s focus on those people. (more…)

My book recommendation- 21 Questions for 21 Millionaires is good for any aspiring millionaires. The author, Brandon Pipkin, more or less asks all the 21 millionaires he interviewed the same questions, so you the reader can compare their answers. The first 30 pages are a brief summary and introduction and then there are about 320 pages of interview transcripts. That may sound boring but I assure it is not. (more…)
