The goal $1,000,000-set your goal at one million dollars in the bank. You must believe you can get one million dollars saved. Of course your goal can be bigger too, but set a goal. Making millions with wristbands.
Mashnoon Ahmed, Mueen Akhter, and Aziz Mansoor are three young men who each put $2,000 into starting their company. They started selling customized silicone wristbands online in 2007 from a small garage. They have a great story with three steps, a few wristbands, a few years, a few million dollars. Why don’t you have one million dollars?
Why don’t you have one million dollars? The assumption is that you want one million dollars. The question is why don’t you have one million dollars? It is not just wanting it and being willing to work for it, you must first believe it can be done and then take the steps to put yourself in a position to accomplish it. You may have no education, no job, bad credit, and be struggling financially. Or, you may have a good education, a good job, good credit, and even a little money in the bank. In both situations and everything in-between, you can have one million dollars in your bank account. It may take a few years of hard work and dedication, but very few things worth doing will come easy. (more…)

Home Brewer Starts Beer Company
Jim Elliott was able to take his home brew to a million dollar business. He had been in retail much of his life, then a school teacher for 14 years. He had been home brewing his beer for 7 years and everyone loved it. He talked to the wife and decided to start a brewery. Jim had made a good business plan to organize his thoughts and try to get the money he needed. He did not have a lot of money, but between his personal money and all his friends and family he scraped $150,000 together.
Jim’s credit was good but even with the help of the SBDC he was still turned down sixteen times by banks for the loan he needed to start his brewery. (more…)
