Why don’t you have one million dollars?
Why don’t you have one million dollars? The assumption is that you want one million dollars. The question is why don’t you have one million dollars? It is not just wanting it and being willing to work for it, you must first believe it can be done and then take the steps to put yourself in a position to accomplish it. You may have no education, no job, bad credit, and be struggling financially. Or, you may have a good education, a good job, good credit, and even a little money in the bank. In both situations and everything in-between, you can have one million dollars in your bank account. It may take a few years of hard work and dedication, but very few things worth doing will come easy.
One of the questions you should all ask yourself is, do you REALLY want financial independence enough to do what you have to do to achieve it? It is not going to be easy, but the most likely route is that you need a business and you probably need some money to start and grow the business. Funding is available, but you must educate yourself and I do not mean get a degree. Many people with lots of degrees do not have $1,000,000 and most never will.
Learn Business Ownership Skills
You need to get focused on business ownership. If you have gaps in your skills, fill them as best you can. There are tons of books on management, sales, accounting, and even projecting confidence. If you cannot afford to buy a bunch of books, there is the library and the internet. Try to stay away from the purely motivational books; as there is typically not much to learn there at all. Instead, focus your reading on developing skills and do research toward starting your own tried-and-true business. You must also concentrate your studies on finding the type of business you want to own and how to raise the money to own it.
Get Free Advice and Help
There is so much help available if you look. While it’s true no one will do it for you, there are many people and organizations that will help you. Most of the people with the organizations that are willing to help you are not millionaires, but they will have experience with how to get a business started and how to grow it. A football coach does not need to have been a great player in order to coach. The same will apply with organizational help and assistance.
One other difference for a football team is the players are usually stuck with the coach. You are much luckier because if you don’t like the help you are getting, you can simply change your coach! I have discussed before that SBDC and SCORE are the biggest and best places to start for help. But, you may not like the person assigned to you. If this is the case, you are free to request another person. Also, there are many more specific organizations that are just for women, veterans, and many other special interest groups. Maybe looking in this direction will be a better fit for you. Whatever your situation, take some action today.
